Jonathan Clède

I was born in 1981 in Houston, Texas, as an artist. I have been an artist all of my life, though my quality of art has varied and fluctuated quite a bit over the years.

I spent four years at Biola University, where I first read Saint Augustine. From the day I first read Confessions and On Christian Teaching I received the unavoidable urge to make art based upon the writings of Augustine. I am completing my final year at Biola as a graphic design major. As the culmination of my artistic academic career, I was finally able to bring my desire to make contemporary Augustinian art to fruition. I crafted a series of letterform illustrations from the mental impressions I had from the life of Saint Augustine as I perceived it from various sources, including Confessions, City of God, and various biographies and dialogues with scholars and professors.

I am continuing my artistic endeavors, not forgetting Augustine or Typography, but not binding myself irrevocably to them either.
